Weiss Beer

The name Weizen, or Weiss Bier (from the German ‘white beer’) is used for an array of beers produced by fermenting a mix of wheat and barley. The name describes not only their colour, which is usually a milky blonde (due mainly to the suspended yeast), it’s also related to the thick foam generated during fermentation. It is one of the oldest beer styles, created by farmers from the medieval Germanic tribes with the grains which were available at the time.

Dennison’s Weizen is inspired by the traditional German recipes, and with modern grains, hops and local water make it truly a first-rate beer.

A beer with a characteristically creamy head and a refreshing taste with hints of banana and cloves.

Pairings: to be served cooled, not cold; it’s perfect on its own or paired with brunch, Italian risotto and fish.

Ingredients: malted wheat and barley, hops, yeast, water, passion and know-how!

INDIAN
PALE ALE
I.P.A.

IPA stands for Indian Pale Ale and was originally created to supply beer to the colonies of the British Empire in the Orient. During the 18th and 19th century the lack of refrigerated containers made it impossible to deliver English beer to the Indian colonies, and the heat and humidity did not allow for it to be produced locally. What the colonies needed was a beer that could withstand the six-month long journey in wooden galleys from England around the African continent and to India. In 1780’s London, a brewer named Hodgson found the solution in a very hoppy beer named October Ale, which was usually let age like wine before drinking.

Following this 200 year long tradition of strong British Pale Ales, and keeping in mind the last 30-40 years of great craft brewing history, Dennison’s IPA is fermented following a ‘revival’ recipe by adapting its amazing taste with first-rate ingredients.

The higher amount of hops gives this beer an intense and bitter taste. It sports an excellent foam head and an amber-like colour.

Pairings: to be served cooled but not cold; it’s perfect on its own or paired with fish, salmon, mackerel, oriental dishes, mango and citrus desserts.

Ingredients: malt, water, hops, yeast, passion and know-how!

Porter

This beer was first introduced in 1722 in London and soon became very popular with the city’s porters in train stations and on the banks of the river Thames. Dark beers like Porter and Stout are the forecomers of the more famous Irish beer. Porter production declined in the 19th century but was rediscovered by craft breweries of the 20th century.

Dennison’s Porter is produced today following a recipe developed to make the most of the superior quality of the modern grains and hops and of the local water.

Traditionally British, dark and hoppy, with a dense and creamy foam head and a complex, pleasant and refreshing taste.

Pairings: to be served cooled, but not cold; perfect on its own or paired with oysters and molluscs, with grilled meat, salami, fruity pastries and chocolate pudding.

Ingredients: barley malt, hops, yeast, water, passion and know-how.
